With a roguish twinkle in her eye, that could seduce even Don Juan himself, this exquisitely beautiful Italian-American artiste, talks with a certainty that only a person who has survived the tough streets and a gang influenced lifestyle could do.

Starting out with a little drum machine and a keyboard from the age of 12, the young DiVa DEE began making beats and rhymes that reflected her tough New Jersey gang fuelled neighbourhood, and then embarked upon a journey of self-discovery to escape the reality of the grime on her block. Choosing to take a path of religious spirituality that fused her love of making music with a desire to defy even her harshest critics, she spent countless hours perfecting her own distinctive stone cold sound. Raw and Unpredictable –just like her. Her brash, irresistible one-listen musical repertoire attracted the attention of many of NYC prominent club DJ’s who all became spellbound by the club anthems that she captivated and entranced their audiences with. Older, wiser and now professionally refined, she still makes the beats herself, but now plugs everything into a computer.

DiVa DEE has by her own admission been blessed. She was fortunate enough to have met great people who both inspired and actively encouraged her. With influences that stretch from pretty piano music such as classical Beethoven; artists such as The Doors; KRS-1 Boogie Down Productions; Madonna; Chemical Brothers; genres such as Hip-hop, Dance Hall; House Music and Rock N Roll. Her powerful connection with the streets is still evident in her ‘bass-driven’ grime - the next logical milestone for the UK’s namesake to morph into. But with her distinctive Grime she brings the ‘Glamour’ – an upper echelon of sophistication that every rapper or pop act dreams of aspiring to - the metamorphosis of the gutter gangster into a sophisticated and successful diva.
